IMPORTANT NEWS -- OCTOBER 25 UPDATE
Your Pastor Search Committee is prepared to nominate Bro. Joshua Purvis as senior Pastor of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. We have invited him and his family to come to PRBC November 7 & 8 to meet the Church Body, to answer questions, and to preach in view of a call on Sunday morning, November 8.
On Saturday we will have a meet & greet period of fellowship with Bro. Purvis and his family. We will have a meal in the Fellowship Hall at 5 PM, and safety protocols will be utilized out of respect for the ongoing pandemic. At 6 PM we will reconvene in the sanctuary for a time of Q&A with Bro. Purvis.
He will then preach on Sunday morning, November 8. Immediately following the service, we will convene a special business meeting in the fellowship hall to vote on whether to call him as our Pastor.
Please continue to pray for this committee. Pray for Bro. Joshua Purvis, his wife Ambraly, and their girls. Pray for Pleasant Ridge and yourself and family during this time. The following is a brief biographical sketch of Bro. Purvis to help you begin to get to know him and his family.
"Joshua has been married to his lovely wife, Ambraly, for twelve years. Together they have two beautiful daughters Brookelyn (6) and Hannah (4). Joshua has a Bachelor's of Music from the University of South Alabama and is almost done with a Master's of Pastoral Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as a children's pastor, youth pastor, hospital chaplain, and for the last seven years senior pastor. Joshua is passionate about studying and preaching the Bible, worshiping Jesus, helping Christians grow in the faith, and reaching people with the gospel. Even as children, Joshua and Ambraly loved the church and they have dedicated their life to serving the Kingdom of God. They love spending time with family and friends, music, traveling, and art."
